Great place to stay, close to town and near the forest, very relaxed place and great for a quick trip with the family

I just noticed the review below and Mel did the exact same thing to us!! Stay away from this accommodation. We drove hours with 2 children under the age of 3 only to turn up and be told simply 'I didn't get your booking'. We were stuck in dwellingup for a further 4 hours trying to find alternate accomodation even though I sent the owner screenshots of all our confirmations of booking as well as a private message she had sent saying that she looked forward to us staying. We had to pay an extra $1000 for our accommodation because we were left stranded with no accomodation near by. Not to mention the money had already been taken from our accountnweeks before for this accommodation. We didn't get a sorry or even a follow up. I can't believe she has done this to other people as well! This was honestly our worst experience with booking accomodation we have ever had. I would have never left a negative review if the owners had tried to help or even have said sorry but they simply didn't care.

Nice old rustic cottage, spacious, clean and comfortable. Great value given it can sleep 10 guests! Kids had plenty of space to play and really enjoyed the summer evening sitting on the veranda surrounded by the beautiful Jarrah forrest.Spoke to the owner (Mel) directly to book, quick and easy, no issues at all. Will stay again for sure.

Had a fabulous time time, enjoyed watching the tranquil forrest view.Clean and neat, everything you want for a get away.

We stayed at Dwellingup Retreat for 3 nights. It was perfect for our short family getaway and a great base to explore the local area (Pump & Jump BMX track, Forest Discovery Centre, Lane Tree Pools, the Wine Tree Cidery & Caraholly Orchard). The owners (Mel & Steve) were friendly and easy to communicate with.

Accommodation is a renovated woodcutters house and converted bedsitter shed away from house. Suppose to accommodate 6 adults and 4 children all using only one bathroom and toilet combined facilities. The beautiful wooden bench in promotional photos is non existing. A rail guide for front steps should be put in. A decent good path to shed bedsitter and a proper step up to verandah needed. Shower floor dangerous and needs rails on walls. Although we paid for a Covid cleanup it did not extend to the air conditioner in shed. Smelt, we cleaned the dirty filters. Don't know about house one too high on wall.

The Dwellingup Retreat is an excellent choice of accommodation. It is a clean and very well presented house with all the amenities that you could ask for. It feels just like a home and has everything you need just like your own, so it took no time to settle in. The owner is very pleasant and efficient to deal with, which makes the whole experience go smoothly. Having stayed this first time for work, after such a great impression, I definitely plan to come back come back with share the experience with my family.

Cute historical timber workers cottage recently renovated. The accomodation was excellent, clean and spacious, everything provided and attention to detail pleasing , including cooking ingredients like spices, P & S , coffee, tea etc provided. Newly renovated bathroom is great and serviceable. Decking on the front verandah overlooks the magnificent jarrah forest and perfect for breakfast or an evening drink. Large backyard suitable and fenced in for children to play. Beds comfortable. Only 90 mins from Perth and so much to do... the bike trails, stunning forest, close to Bibbulum track, steam train, farmers market, Lane Pool and lots more. Had a great weekend and happy to recommend.
